This regulated and nationally recognised qualification has been designed to provide Learners with the knowledge and skills required to competently carry out their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding and protecting, young people and adults at risk of harm.
During this 1/2 day course, the qualification will provide the Learner with the knowledge and understanding to safeguard and protect children, young people and adults at risk of harm or abuse.
The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:
- National Health Service (NHS) 'protect' guidelines
- National and local safeguarding policies
- Children’s Act 2004
- HM Government Prevent Strategy
This qualification should give Learners the knowledge and understanding to safeguard and protect children, young people and adults at risk of harm and abuse in the workplace as well as how to recognise the signs and symptoms and respond to evidence or concerns a child, young person or adult at risk has been abused.
Who is it intended for?
The
QA Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Adults at Risk (RQF) qualification is intended for those who are working with children, young people and adults at risk, including those in voluntary or unpaid positions. This qualification is also suitable for those who have a specific responsibility in safeguarding and protecting in environments such as the NHS, education providers and social services.
Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Assessment
1 x Theory assessments (workbook) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.
Successful Learners will receive a
QA Level 2 Award in Safeguarding Children, Young People and Adults at Risk (RQF) certificate.
Requalification requirements
We recommend Leaners refresh their training every 3 years. .
