Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries.

What’s more, as a regulated qualification, employers can book this course for their employees and rest assured that they have fulfilled their legal responsibilities for providing quality first aid training, without having to undertake any lengthy due diligence checks introduced in the recent HSE changes.

Once qualified, holders of this Emergency First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aider's in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. All of our courses are bespoke and will be adapted to suit a particular audience and environment, for example, clerical or engineering staff.


Who is it designed for?

The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.


The Emergency First Aid at Work Syllabus Includes:

  1. The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider
  2. Assessing an incident
  3. Managing an unresponsive casualty
  4. CPR and AED use
  5. Recovery Position
  6. Choking
  7. Seizures
  8. Shock
  9. Wounds and bleeding
  10. Minor injuries
    1. Cuts, grazes and bruises
    2. Minor burns and scalds
  11. Recording and Reporting
  12. Regulations
  13. First Aid Kits

Assessment

3 x Practical assessments, 1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course. Upon successful completion, certification is valid for three years*.

Re-qualification

*Under the current guidelines it is strongly recommended that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every 12 months - before completing their full re-qualification training at the three year point.
