Throughout the qualification Learners will build an in-depth knowledge of assessing, covering key topics including: principles and practices of assessment, types of assessment methods, the importance of quality assurance in assessment processes and more.
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification allows Learners to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to effectively perform the role of an Assessor in a wide range of contexts.
Who is it intended for?
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF) has been specifically designed for those who need to:
- Assess occupational competence in the work environment
and
- Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding outside the work environment i.e. training setting
Transferable to any sector that the Learner has occupational competence in, this qualification provides a national benchmark for best practice in assessing.
Successful Learners will leave with the skills required to assess competency based qualifications such as NVQs as well as vocational qualifications such as first aid.
The units covered are:
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
- Assess occupational competence in the work environment
- Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
Entry requirements
Trainee assessors must be at least 19 years old on the first day of the training.
Trainee assessors must have access to learners completing vocational qualifications in order to generate the evidence required to complete this qualification.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Trainee assessors have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Assessment
3 x Learner Workbooks (includes theory and practical assessments).
Successful Learners will receive a QA Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF) certificate.
Requalification requirements
It is not a requirement for Trainee assessors to renew this qualification however we recommend they keep up to date with current practice in assessment through regular participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
Progression
The
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF) may support progression with training into the area of internal quality assurance, an example qualification would be the
Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF), which we can offer support you with as well.
