During this comprehensive course, Learners will cover a variety of topics including the principles and practices of assessment, as well how to prepare and carrying out assessments of vocational skills, knowledge and understanding.
This regulated and nationally recognised qualification allows Trainee assessor’s to further develop their knowledge, skills and understanding of assessing Learners in a vocational setting e.g. classroom environment.
Who is it intended for?
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF) has been specifically designed for those who wish to undertake qualification assessment of vocationally related qualifications for which they are occupationally competent to deliver/assess. This may include individuals who are currently working in a mentoring, teaching or training capacity.
The units covered are:
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
- Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
Entry requirements
Trainee assessors must be at least 19 years old on the first day of the training.
Trainee assessors must have access to learners completing vocationally related qualifications in order to generate the evidence required to complete this qualification.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Trainee assessors have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent
Assessment
2 x Theory assessments (learner workbooks) and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.
Successful Learners will receive a
QA Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (RQF) certificate.
Requalification requirements
It is not a requirement for Trainee assessors to renew this qualification however we recommend they keep up to date with current practice in assessment through regular participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
